Two nearby hotels have offered special Class of 1961 rates. They are listed in order of recommended preference. Our objective is to fill the Courtyard Marriott first. However, some may wish to contact the Hampton Inn at this time. In either case, classmates should ask to register under the group rate for Class of 61 Reunion. Please contact The Flying Finn, aka Bill Mackie, Co G-1 (Motto: Number One in Second to None), if you have any problems in registering. |

Dear Classmates: |
The schedule is starting to come together for our 40th reunion. Still hard to believe that 40 years have passed since graduation. The reunion committee has been meeting on a regular basis and now that the 2001 Army football schedule has been published, we can start firming up most of the reunion events. Bob Glass will be coming online with specifics in the near future. |
As always, your friendly Class Treasurer (who, by the nature of his appointed position, always has his hand out for something or another) is going to need some capital to pay several deposits: i.e., buses, band, reunion gifts, hotel conference rooms, etc. Bottom line is, I need a $125.00 registration fee to pay some of the up-front costs. The fee will be applied to your final bill and will be refunded if you are unable to attend the reunion and give me at least 30 days notice. |
To maintain positive control over our reunion fund, I would like all reunion payments to be sent to me at the above address. The registration form is self-explanatory. As soon as I receive your form with a check or credit card authorization, I will send your payment to the Association of Graduates for deposit in our reunion account. The second bottom line in this letter: I need your $125.00 registration fee soonest. |
Thanks in advance for your quick response to my request for the $125.00. Look forward to seeing you at West Point in October to celebrate the big 4 0. A special invocation for Odin to get us some good weather for that weekend would certainly be in order. At least it couldnt hurt. Dont forget to book your room reservation ($129 per night) at the Westchester Marriott, Tarrytown, NY 800-228-9290 just make sure it is the Westchester Marriott and the USMA 61 Reunion. Hope all is well wherever you are. Regards to all. |
Sincerely, |
DICK BUCKNER Class Treasurer |
