Dear Classmates:
It’s now time to sign up for all events for the 45th Reunion of the Class of 1962! Enclosed find the Event/Registration Form you must return to sign up for meals and events. To sign up for Golf or to order optional Memorabilia please refer to the enclosures. Please note the information regarding ordering football tickets. You MUST go online to order tickets in the class seating and there is no form to return in this mailing. Passwords and information is listed below.
Additionally, please find copies of the current lists of Classmates Registered and a copy of the Agenda for the weekend. Note: If you did not register for the reunion earlier, you may do so now (last chance!). This is the last mailing to go out to the entire class.
EVENT AND REGISTRATION FEES: The registration deadline is August 15. Complete the enclosed Event Registration form and mail in the enclosed envelope to: Class of 62 Reunion, PO Box 620, Skaneateles, NY 13152. Be sure to include the required $175 or $225 registration fee if you have not already done so. Refunds of this fee are available until 15 July and event/meal money refunds will not be available after 13 September. The registration fee covers mailings, Friday and Saturday bus transportation (on and around West Point as well as round trip from the hotel), administrative costs, down payments and certain reunion mementos, which will be issued at registration. Upon arrival, your registration packet will include tickets for the events you paid for in addition to name badges and lanyards, a tote bag and stadium blanket for the ladies and a polo shirt and hat for the guys.
Class widows are encouraged to attend and are not required to pay the registration fee. Ex-cadets are also welcome to attend. Checks should be made out to the Class of ’62 Reunion. Please note that meal events require a ticket and only an extremely limited number will be available for purchase at the door.
PARKING/TRANSPORTATION: Please note that parking on West Point is very limited. Those planning to drive to West Point will be required to clear security via the Thayer or Stony gates and park at Buffalo Soldiers Field or the old PX parking lot—and then walk or shuttle bus to Central Area. Washington Gate is for DOD sticker holders WITH a valid Government ID card. There is NO PARKING for our class in Central Area. We strongly recommend taking the buses on Friday and Saturday. Please indicate on the event sign up form how many in your party will use the buses on each day so we can order the correct number of buses.
FOOTBALL TICKETS: Order by 15 June by going online at the ticket section of www.goarmysports.com to order seats in the class reunion section. The LOGIN name for your class is ARMY62 and the class password to order is TEMP62. We are not including a form in this mailing as ordering ONLINE is the only way to get reunion class seating! The ticket office will mail out tickets approximately two weeks prior to the game or you can request they hold them at the will call window for pickup on game day or the Friday of our reunion weekend. Please be advised that the new ESPN television contract allows them to change the currently scheduled 1pm game start time up to twelve days out. We will adjust our agenda accordingly if necessary.
MEMORABILIA: Use the enclosed form to place your orders for memorabilia which is optional and in addition to the items in your registration packet. The AOG Gift Shop is providing this support to our class. At the bottom of the order form are the numbers to order by phone or fax as well as the addresses to order on-line or by mail. LODGING: The Westchester Marriott is our Reunion Center. Reservations are each classmate’s responsibility and can be made by calling 1-800-228-9290 or the hotel directly at 914-631-2200. Ask for the “West Point Class of 1962 rate”. The reserved block rate at the Marriott is $139 per night (plus tax), single or double, it includes continental breakfast for two and will only be held until 1 September at 5pm. GOLF: Bernie Skown has agreed to organize a class golf tournament at the West Point Golf Club on Thursday during our reunion weekend. We have enclosed a flyer in this mailing which should answer your questions regarding this event. You can tear the bottom portion off and return with your event form in order to sign up for golf. Anyone with questions should contact Bernie at Bernard.Skown@stevens.edu.
AGENDA/DRESS: The enclosed agenda lists the times and events for the weekend. Thursday evening’s supper reception is golf casual (sport shirts and slacks) for the men and equivalent for the ladies. Friday daytime activities are casual dress with comfortable walking shoes. The Friday Class Dinner will be a dressy affair (business suits or sport coats for the men, equivalent attire for the ladies). On Saturday, the men are expected to wear a sports coat (per AOG request) for the Cadet Review. We’ll also wear the class ball cap included in the registration packet to the parade. As stated earlier, the game time is subject to change up until twelve days prior to the date. Watch the class web page at www.aogusma.org/Class/1962/ to follow reunion updates.
OTHER The class web site will also have a list of restaurants close to the hotel so those who want to arrange company or small group gatherings on your own on Saturday night can do so.
