Golfing Grads Tournament 2006

Classmates:

This year's version of the Golfing Grads was completed last week at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.  The Class of 62 had 40 golfers there along with two wives. A great time was had by all with the highlight being the class dinner.  Steve Arnold sent numerous prizes, from Iraq, which were presented to class members who distinguished themselves through funny incidents on the golf course or elsewhere.  No one was spared the humiliation.  Charlie Bernitt won a "Who's Your Bagdaddy Now?" T-shirt for which we drew numbers out of a hat to select the winner.  The highlight of the dinner was when Barry Butzer spilled his red wine on George Kirshenbauer's pants.  The lady who ran the restaurant offered to get George's pants cleaned so George stood off and stripped down to his underwear and handed them to the lady.  He then sat back down and properly covered himself with his napkin until the lady returned his pants all cleaned and pressed.  Here are the results of the competition.

4 Man Competition:  No prizes/winners for '62

2 Man Competition:  1st - Cowles & Kohler, Closest to Pin, #7 - Tie (Janicke & Welper), Longest Drive - Champion

Individual Competition:  Gross - 7th - Alt; Net - 1st - Thomas, 7th - Denton, 8th - Bernitt
