Jim Kimsey was inducted into the Ranger Hall of Fame on July 7, 2005 at Ft Benning, Georgia.

Fellow inductees included a Medal of Honor awardee plus distinguished Rangers from WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. .Jim was recognized for his three combat tours as an Infantryman and his business, humanitarian, and philanthropic work around the world.

The following day Jim was the guest speaker at the Ranger School graduation.

The Class of '62 (Hagerty, McGurk, and Downing ) arrived in style on Jim's Gulfstream V; it looked a little strange parked at Lawson Army Airfield next to the C-130s and C-17s flying the jump school class. MG Ben Freakley, '85, hosted us for a three day visit which included all the training and combat developments going on at Benning as the US Army gears up to fight the global war on terrorism. Jim and Harry had not been back to the Home of the Infantry since they graduated from Ranger School in early 1963. All were impressed with the professionalism, attitude, technology, and spirit they observed.

'62 worked very hard every day and into the nights (one might say especially the nights). On a particularly onerous night recon mission, we uncovered shocking news for our Infantry classmates: the world renowned Chickasaw Club has been closed for many years. "Chickasaw Charlie" Shaw will likely take this very badly; Hags was inconsolable for several hours.
We had a lot of fun turning the clock back 40 plus years. All the old stories were retold and some new ones on Scotty in Juarez and the dynamic roommates (Harry, Jim Mount, and Ralph Lurker) surfaced. As the man said, you cannot make this stuff up.
