2007 Winter Career Resources Update

The Association of Graduates very much appreciates the military service of our graduates, especially during these dangerous times, and hopes that as many graduates as possible will serve long careers in the Army or other armed services. The Association also realizes that all military careers end at some point. If you have decided to begin preparing for your transition into the civilian workforce, you will find the Association of Graduates career resources useful. Here is an update on our major services:

Save the Date— Service Academy Career Conference— Washington D.C., 10-11 May . More than 150 employers will attend this SACC—the first conference this year. The SACC is an open career conference, consisting of an interview preparation seminar (Thursday evening) and a job fair (Friday). During the SACC all participating alumni are free to meet with any of the participating employers. Registration information via www.aogusma.org/as/careers ; click on SACC.

Business Directory Reaches a Milestone. The Internet Service Academy Business Resource Directory now has more than 33,000 participating graduates. It is a superb business-to-business and career networking resource. The web site is operated by the joint service academy alumni organizations and requires a subscription to search (though you may post your own business information free of charge). Joint Service Academies Jobs Electronically—www.jsaje.com: Whether in a passive or active job search the Association of Graduates’ job and resume posting service should be one of your resources. (Approximately 1000 graduates have posted their resumes during the last six months.) All employers who contact the AOG about hiring graduates are encouraged to advertise their opportunities or search for candidates in the resume database at www.jsaje.com , which is linked into www.aogusma.org/as/careers .
