The James K. Herbert Alumni Center may be reserved for private social functions by Regular members of the AOG (graduates of USMA), Associate Members and Cadets. The member or cadet will be the host of the event including his/her personal attendance and participation. Hosts will not "sponsor" events for persons or groups not otherwise authorized to use the Alumni Center.

The Class of '46 Great Hall serves as the banquet area. It can accommodate 120 people seated with a dance floor, 160 without a dance floor. Cocktail receptions (standing only) may not exceed 200 guests. The hall has been used for wedding receptions, graduation parties, class reunions, rehearsal dinners, showers, promotions, department farewells and parent club events.

The room is comprised of floor to ceiling contemporary gothic windows. Encompassing the rooms upper parameter is a balcony which overlooks the main dining and dancing area. The brass rails along the balcony lead around the room to two adjacent staircases which frame the brick fireplace in the center of the south wall.
