WEST POINT PARENTS CLUB OF EL PASO

AND SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO

WEST POINT PARENTS CLUB OF THE

TEXAS PLAINS

Today, there are two parent clubs in our society area, one in El Paso and one in Midland. These clubs are a source of support welcomed by members of our Society. They have become an integral part of our Admissions effort, work closely with our Society, and continue to expand their involvement and effectiveness. Primarily, our parent clubs help to maintain close and continuous support for our cadets and families. They assist at home and at West Point to insure that cadets and parents alike receive the best of care, are well informed, properly counseled, and receive full support and understanding from all concerned. This vital effort has produced high retention rates for our cadets and an excellent reputation at home and the USMA!

The El Paso club was organized by Hardy and Herta Kemp (Steve, USMA '84) on 11 October 1980 at Fort Bliss, TX. The club in Midland was organized by Reis and Paula Ritz (Brandon, USMA '03) on 13 August 2000. Again, their primary focus is on the care and support for our cadets at West Point and their parents at home. In addition, they join with the West Point Society of the El Paso Area and our USMA Admissions Participants in enhancing the image of USMA and in our marketing efforts to promote interest in looking at our Military Academy as a college/career option.
