What is BizNet?

BizNet is a resource and referral network of graduates of the Army, Navy, Air Force or Merchant Marine Academies in the Greater Richmond area. We meet the first Wednesday of every month in the Law office of Joe Lamb USMA ‘72. Joe is an attorney with Foster and Associates located at 10800 Midlothian Turnpike in the Winchester building, Suite 300. The group meets from 7:30 AM until 8:45 AM. Attendees should bring their own breakfast.

What is a typical meeting like?

The format for the meeting includes informal networking for the opening 15 minutes followed by group sharing of business needs. We then give time for attendees through questions to assist others in solving these business problems. Problems can discussed include such diverse topics as performance management, internally selling a business idea in a corporate setting, raising capital for a start up company or assistance with a career transition.

We are currently identifying our member’s areas of expertise. We will then incorporate ten-minute time blocks in our meetings for a member to speak on a specific topic of interest to the entire group.

Future plans include quarterly speakers from within our outside the group, mentoring and assistance to minority businesses and social event for BizNet attendees and their spouses.

Who attends these meetings?

Our attendees include Senior Corporate Managers, serving Senior Army Officers, Investment Brokers, a Chief Financial Officer, Presidents of local companies, Business Management Consultants, a Small Business Attorney, a Real Estate and Bankruptcy Attorney, a Senior HUD Manager and Sales Executives. Our group represents quite diverse and extensive experience pool. As such it creates a rich source of knowledge and resources for local Academy graduates. We welcome all newcomers!
